Sport disciplines are further categorized as Olympic, Recreational and other sports. Sport in SLA is mainly for competitions and recreational purposes. Team sport is widely used in day to activities and synchronized to the curriculum and standards in all forms of training from basic level to advance and also in the specialized fields for career development. Use of ICT for managing sport within the Military is done routinely with available ICT resources but not dedicated to the existing ASO. Resources are used from the integral ICT services available for Command, Control and Administrative functions provided by the Sri Lanka Signal Corps as the main telecommunications services provider.
